Feast in the Field has been retiredThe staff of Valley Food & Farm and its Steering Committee, along with the leadership of Vital Communities, has spent a great deal of time in reflection and conversation before arriving at the decision to retire our Feast in the Field local foods dinner. This decision comes with some sadness, but also with the knowledge that it was thoroughly considered and collaboratively made, and we feel that it is the right one.
We understand that it is an event that is dear to the hearts of nearly 800 people who attended the past two years’ events. We thank you for your support! We are fortunate to live in an area with much activity and support around local farms and local food. For those who love this type of farm dinner event, we include below some links to other groups who host similar events. We hope you will continue to support your local farmers and enjoy the local abundance of food in a variety of ways. As promotional sponsors of last year’s Feast, Mascoma Savings Bank helped us carry out two fine meals, and we thank them. Sharyn Amberger and Nancy LaRowe, dinner coordinators of the 2006 and 2007 dinners, did yeoman’s work to bring you an all local foods meal in such lovely settings. Finally, we extend our deep gratitude to the two farms that hosted this event—Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center, and Edgewater Farm & Farmstand—and to the many volunteers who worked so hard to make this event possible. If you are interested in volunteering for our other farm food events – Seasons in February and/or Flavors of the Valley in April – or in planning for possible new ventures, please contact us Cooperatively, For other farm dinners:
