A group of Vermont consumers that want access to farm fresh milk is forming in order to ensure that they continue to have access to milk directly from local farms. Their reasons for wanting this milk include its nutritional qualities and taste. The main objectives of the group include:

• Building an e-mail/phone list of Vermont consumers that want access to farm fresh milk.
• Once the list is compiled, to present it to NOFA VT to see if it will help them obtain grant funding for a position where a person monitors legislation related to access to farm fresh milk.
• Long term goals include education about the nutritional benefits of farm fresh milk and the development of legislation protecting a farmer's right to unimpeded direct transactions with the public (like Minnesota has).
• They want to maintain a focus on local farms serving local communities.
