The purpose of the Institute is to bring leaders and emerging leaders together for a ten month period to enhance their knowledge of the Upper Valley, share new insights about leadership, and build a leadership network that benefits the individual, their work and the community.
We will provide an experience that respects 'sense of place'. Our curriculum is geared toward adult learners, combining listening, reading, experiencing and networking. You will gain actionable knowledge about the Upper Valley region and will join an accessible network of thoughtful leaders.
- Session topics include: Community, Health & Human Services, Education, Arts and the Creative Economy, Communications, Government and Politics, Transportation and Livable Communities, Environment, Synergy/Graduation.
- Each session is held on the second Wednesday of the month from 8 am to 5 pm. Occasionally evening events may take place.
- Each class will consist of up to 30 participants.
- Prior to each session, you will receive an agenda with information about the logistics for the session, the learning goals and the homework assignments. (see sample agenda)
- Sessions are held in different locations throughout the Upper Valley to give you a better sense of our region.
- Morning and mid-day meals will be provided.
Who should apply?
- Current or potential leaders in his or her community, including business owners, artists, stay at home parents, educators, civic employees, non-profit employees or retirees.
- Anyone interested in knowing more about the strengths and challenges in the Upper Valley.
- People who are interested in understanding more about our community and are willing to help make the Upper Valley a better place to live work and play.
