Shawn Donovan is a member and former chair of the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission. He has been a consistent champion of community transportation for many years through his work at UVLSRPC, the Upper Valley Transportation Management Association, and the regional Transportation Advisory Council. Twenty-five years ago, he was instrumental in organizing the original Hanover shuttle bus system serving the town, Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He has advocated for projects serving broader regional goals, including the need for transit service from Claremont to Lebanon and Hanover, which is undergoing a formal feasibility study this year. In the words of his nominators, he is passionate about community transportation and has also "mastered the alphabet soup of federal public transportation programs, and can actually explain them to others."
