Questing in Bangkok, Thailand

Good teaching techniques have universal application, and children of all ages benefit from connecting with the land.

Patcheree Sridakum, a Thai teacher who taught in Thetford, VT as an AFS exchange teacher 2 years ago created a quest in Bangkok, Thailand with her students. She was inspired by the Valley Quest program as an excellent way to teach ‘sense of place.’

Vital Communities’ Executive Director, Len Cadwallader, got a chance to Quest with Patcheree and her students while traveling in Thailand.

“The day with the students and teachers who made the Quest in
Bangkok was enchanting,” says Len. “We started at the school and,
following the clues wended our way through the streets of Bangkok. We
ended up,” Len reports, “at the Yannawate-wat Bhoman Temple—a very
elaborate—and well-maintained—temple.”

Bangkok—a perfect destination for a
Quest"
