Upper Valley 250
In 2011, twelve towns in the Upper Valley will be celebrating the 250th Anniversary of their charters. Canaan, Enfield, Fairlee, Hanover, Hartford, Hartland, Lebanon, Lyme, Norwich, Plainfield, Thetford or Windsor, are part of a group known as the Middle Grants. In 1761, Governor Benning Wentworth issued the charters to these towns and many more.
