If you’re a Dartmouth student and want to get involved with
the Farm to Dartmouth Project (FTD) ...

Got 5 minutes?

  • Thank Dartmouth Dining Service employees for being a part of the project
  • Get to know those who serve you
  • Notice when there is local food on the menu and tell employees you support it
  • Encourage friends to get involved with FTD
  • Fill out DDS comment cards, expressing your support for the local foods served
  • Keep an eye out for surveys related to FTD… and fill them out!
  • Write and sign letters of support for the FTD project

An hour?

  • Volunteer at Dartmouth's Organic Farm
  • Volunteer at Valley Food & Farm to help:
    - Contact farmers interested in FTD
    - Send out mailings
    - Publicize the project
    - Create promotional materials
    - Set up and coordinate visits with local farmers

Two hours/week?

  • Join the FTD Taskforce (which particularly needs an ‘08 and an ’09 student)
  • Attend student group meetings
  • Help organize and host potluck dinners to talk about the project

320 hours or an off term?
