Owner/Founder F.H. Clothing Co.
When Joan Ecker started F.H. Clothing Co. more than thirty years ago, she packed her wares and her two young daughters into a van and traveled from craft show to craft show to sell her clothing. 33 years later, both the business and the family have grown up: F.H. garments are now sold in 250 boutiques throughout the country. However, the business remains as local as they come.
The clothing is still designed locally by Joan in Quechee, where they also make patterns, do samples and small cuts, and sew all the special orders. Everything else that can be manufactured in the United States is-a rarity in today's garment industry. Housed in an old barn, the store is filled to the rafters with hats, clothing (their own and from designers around the country), menswear, gifts, trinkets and treasures.
