Since 1994, Vital Communities has offered a wide array of services to our region's
communities. Even the best-organized groups need support in making their dreams
come to life, and we can be there to help. Our staff has a combined 96 years
of community development, education and facilitation experience. We look forward
to working with you!
Facilitation: Our skilled staff members are available to assist towns, nonprofits and civic groups with preparation and facilitation so that meetings and forums runs smoothly and achieve their desired results. Rate: $75/hr/person.
Fiscal Agency: Vital Communities provides fiscal agent services for start-up organizations aligned with our mission. Rate: Negotiable.
Workshops / Informational Sessions: We offer community-building services and agriculture visioning activities to private sector and municipal groups. Rate: $75/hr/ or a negotiable rate for large-scale projects.
Locally Grown Guide: 40 pages, tabloid. Includes: listing of 200 area businesses where you can buy locally produced farm products, month-by-month calendar to buy locally grown all year 'round; interviews with producers and users of local farm products; color map and index. Price: FREE at over 90 locations.

Quest Development: We can help your community or organization create a Quest. Fee includes planning time, 4-6 site visits, curriculum materials and travel. Rate: $1,600-$2,000.
Workshops: We periodically offer half-, full-, and multi-day Valley Quest workshops. These include An Introduction to Valley Quest, Valley Quest Level I, and Valley Quest Level II. Rate: $25 (half-day) to $250 (3-day) per staff person.
Consulting / Professional Development: We assist teachers and groups in developing Quests and/or curricula to meet the needs of their school or community. Rate for non-profits: $55/hr or $400/day plus travel. Rate for private companies: $75/hr or $600/day plus travel.
Guided Quests / Field Trips: We can lead your group on an exciting half- or full-day educational adventure. Rate for non-profits: $55/hr or $400/day plus travel. Rate for private companies: $75/hr or $600/day plus travel.
Storytelling / Story Hour Program: A one-and-a-half hour program appropriate for children ages 5-12. Rate: $75/hr plus site costs and travel.

Consultations: We advise housing developers who are in the conceptual phase. We have up-to-date information on housing needs, infrastructure capacity, and municipal zoning regulations for the Upper Valley region. Rate: FREE.
Formal Design Review: A panel of experts from the fields of finance, engineering, planning/zoning, conservation, and public policy review your proposed development design. Submission to the Design Review process can potentially lead to "Project Endorsement" by the Housing Coalition-a valuable project attribute when seeking permits from local planning boards and commissions. Rate: FREE.

Workshops / Informational Sessions: We offer workshops to groups interested in learning how they can help reduce the negative effects of traffic in our region. Rate: $75/hr.
Project Management Services: We provide management services to private sector and municipal groups to perform transportation planning and/or management activities. Rate: $75/hr or negotiable rate for large-scale projects.

Consultant Services: We advise and support a volunteer Planning Committee of residents in your town to plan and hold a 1-1/2 day forum for roughly 200 town residents. Participants envision the town's future, identify collective priorities for action, and choose feasible projects to address those priorities. After the event, volunteer town committees implement the chosen projects. Fee includes staff time over 6-12 months, supplies, travel, facilitation, training, and report-writing to capture all Profile content. Rate: approximately $7,500.
