VOLUNTEER PROFILE: Elizabeth Procter - Lebanon, NH

Our friend Elizabeth started volunteering for Vital Communities in 1999. Until her death in 2006, Elizabeth was one of our most active volunteers, clipping the papers daily for any mention of VC and our program areas. After retiring from her medical career and moving here from Wisconsin, Elizabeth had free time and wanted to contribute to something she believed in. Through a connection with our Executive Director, she learned about Vital Communities. According to Elizabeth, Vital Communities was "doing something that no one else is doing and that very much needs to be done." So she offered to help us send out mailings-an essential task for every nonprofit. Whenever we had a large mailing to "stuff, stamp, and seal," we gratefully called upon Elizabeth to lend a hand. When asked why she continued to volunteer here, Elizabeth said, "It's always pleasurable and enlivening to work with Vital Communities' staff, and it's satisfying to help you meet your mission. I see a continuing need for your services." Elizabeth's husband Clifford made her contribution possible by serving as her "reliable and admirable driver." Thank you so much, Elizabeth and Clifford! We appreciate your friendship, help and support.
